AIPLA INDUSTRIAL DESIGNS COMMITTEE
The Industrial Designs Committee of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) has a very active program . The most current report on the committee's activities is found on the AIPLA web site. Committee reports are found in AIPLA Bulletins. The most recent committee report found on the current web site includes a review of the annual meeting, the National Conference on Industrial Design Protection, and a meeting of attorneys held with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) Design Group examiners. This committee is planning to have a bi-annual conference on current developments, the next one probably occurring in October 1998 just before the annual meeting in Washington, D.C., U.S.A.

PTO PUBLICATION ON DESIGN PATENT APPLICATION PREPARATION
The PTO has place on its web site a copy of its recent publication: A Guide to Filing A Design Patent Application. It is a very important source of information on how to prepare and prosecute a design patent application.

HAGUE AGREEMENT FOR THE INTERNATIONAL DEPOSIT OF INDUSTRIAL DESIGNS
The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) web site has a summary of the history and operation of the Hague Agreement on the International Deposit of Industrial Designs [insert link to WIPO HA home page, http://www.wipo.int/eng/general/ipip/hague.htm ]. This treaty provides a centralized filing system for member countries, administered by WIPO. An update on the revision of this treaty, to expand its membership is on this web site, Hague Agreement revision.

HUNGARIAN INDUSTRIAL DESIGN PROTECTION.
The Hungarian Patent Office web site has a summary of the legislation for protecting industrial designs. The legislation described is the Decree-Law No. 28 of 1978 on the Protection of Industrial Designs.

FUN DATA FROM THE AUSTRALIAN INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY OFFICE (AIPO)
This web page has a web site which includes several Australian Registered Designs, with excellent pictures of the design and a copy of the design registration.

WIPO Intellectual Property Library. A very useful intellectual property (IP) library is at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and the WIPO web site under the heading "Library" has several important data bases. One resource has all treaties administered by WIPO. Another database has a list articles in key IP periodicals, updated weekly. The library will provide research assistance.

U. S. PTO Web Site Adds Page with Answers to Frequently Asked Questions on Design Patent Applications. The U.S. PTO has added to its web site a page providing answers to frequently asked questions (FAQ) [link to the PTO page with FAQ] concerning design patent protection. This resource includes access to U. S. PTO design patent application related forms that can be printed out.
